That was a good pop, but it took a heck of a charge, normally the charges are much smaller.

Probably why they resorted to using a helicopter to place such a large charge.

I have actually rode in the heli when they have done this, we used what looked more like a 5 gallon pail. The noise of the explosion and the avalanche crack still makes me smile.

well i mean the charges they lop out of the bird are usually smaller, but home lame security cracked down on Avy teams on using surplus military explosives (for the safety of the homeland you know) so maybe they have to use a less dense explosive.
